“WE WILL NOT KILL ANGIE”

LOSS OF EMPATHY IN AMERICA

An incident is happening right now that I cannot let idly go by, something which I see as a dire humane issue kindly aligned with the death of human spirit. I say kindly because we like to associate bad behaviors today with good things.

Like pimping used to be disgusting; an evil trade where men sold women into servitude for an hour’s pleasure and used the rewards for luxuries while the women suffered any abuse for a dictated price.

Now, it's the hip word of the moment and something to be regarded as a status class, regardless of how degrading and offensive it sounds to fathers of daughters everywhere.

Gay used to mean frivolity and merriment, but now it’s just slang for homosexual.

Taking care of family meant meeting every year during holidays despite angers, petty jealousies or entanglements, to spend a few precious hours with those we hardly see and wish each other another year of glad tidings.

Today it means a cold glass of soy milk and a warm TV dinner in front of the latest Xbox of the moment. A call home would seem an intrusion or bothersome, but done grudgingly after the party’s over.

We’ve become a society of unfeeling uncaring folk, that only look out for what is in front of us, not what is around us or outside of our private little domain.

We look at each other strangely as if they (our neighbors) might do something strange themselves at any moment and while they spy on us through the shaded windows of their homes next to ours, we spy on them through our tightly locked doors.

I wrote on empathy a while back, and America’s lack thereof, and now I see first- hand how little we care about each other when time is so precious.

My sister-in-law (my girlfriend’s sister) is sick; she is more than sick, she had a “Brain Bleed” where pressure had built up in the blood vessels in her brain and started seeping out from the pressure – it started bleeding into her brain {as it’s been explained to me} (no, it was not an aneurism; they blow, this was seeping) and it made her pass out… but not before calling 911 because she knew something was going wrong in her head and before they got to the house, she got nervous and was (we think) trying to get to her car to drive herself to the hospital, because the paramedics found her outside on the lawn in front of her house).

Long story short, she had to have subsequent surgery on her brain because while all this pressure had built up inside her head an AVM was building up with other capillaries threatening to explode too, so the doctor had to remove them (that patch of blood vessels before they blew) and so her brain would stop bleeding and the swelling go down.

Now through all this we have been supportive of Angie, knowing that it is going to be a long way back from this kind of surgery, so we listen to the doctors and pray every day, but some people…

Some people who seemingly have no empathy or even sympathy want to end the paperwork on Angie Savoie’s life and be done with her!

Three times now, we have encountered this attitude of, “Why don’t we just let her go?” When all the while Angie is trying to tell us that she wants to stay and live, and fight to get back up on her feet.

First there was a Social Worker who thought Angie was never going to improve so why not “get the family ready to end her suffering and pull the plug.” She didn’t literally say that, but it was implied. Then we encountered another one who wanted to try and talk the family into signing her off as non-responsive and they should stop administering assistance, by that, just let nature take its course, no medication just morphine to ease the pain till she went quietly in her sleep…

And lastly, Melody encountered a doctor who seems of the same mind set, after seeing Angie one time, obviously in one of her “not so good moments.”

Angie can be lively and active some days, and she can be down and not so mobile others, so as to do much but stare. But her nurses and everyone who encounters her on good days know that she’s in there, she’s responsive and knows what going on around her and answers and communicate to those around her the best way she can.

See, there needs to be an easy fix for everything these days. And Angie is not an easy fix. Quick and easy doesn’t fit that definition then it’s no good and of no use… people are now that disposable too, I guess.

It seems reprehensible to me that human beings can be thought so little of that at the slightest discomfort to the officials such as the social worker(s) who must have needed to clear their desk of the paper-work Angie is building up, which by the time she is well, will probably be insurmountable.

But that is just paper work; we are talking about the life of a human being who is vibrant, alive and lively inside her head even though she is unable at this time to actually speak verbally her needs or wants.

She communicates very well her wishes to the nurses in attendance and the doctors who visit and take care of her (except the one who had not really met her and was going on assumptions formed from a visit on a bad day for Angie/maybe she wasn’t feeling well, or anything) but it left a bad taste in my mouth about just who is running things up there at the facility she is in.

Dr. Eric Hauk, the neurological surgeon who fixed Angie’s brain after the bleed incident was a remarkable man. He is optimistic that Angie should make a complete recovery {complete in that she should be able to understand and talk again and have useable adaptability of her limbs and muscle control which will only get better as time goes by with physical therapy.

I mention this Doctor because he is such an amazing man as well as he is a professional doctor/surgeon who saved Angie’s life. And for that we are so very grateful. But he has also mentioned the fact that people here in Oregon seem to want to give up so easily on someone in Angie’s condition and just let her fade away into death because they don’t really have the staff or the quality physicians TO DEAL WITH INVALID PATIENTS LIKE Angie.

Which is sad really, when you think that this woman was once so vibrant, so alive and full of life and outgoing energy.

You would have loved Angie Savoie, a picture of effervescence, who was always quick with a smile and would talk your ear off even if she didn’t know you. But that is Angie and it grows on you as you look for an escape but you loved it anyway because Angie can make you laugh when you feel like crying and find humor in the most mundane of things

But again I get off topic. People don’t care anymore about people! Sounds redundant I know but we don’t. We seem to only care now if it is about us not our neighbors. Sad.

We Americans used to go out of our way to help others. In the fifties and sixties we didn’t even worry about locking our home doors. We knew no one was going to walk into our home and if they did they were bringing something or coming to see what we had for dinner!

Good times that seem a fantasy away. Times when we loved one another, times when an open door meant welcome and a child on a swing could be safe by itself if mother looked away. Good time lost to apathy and loss of innocence.

No longer do we cherish our birthright of loyalty to other and our country. Now everyone mistrust the government because they have been lied to about so many things they don’t know what to believe anymore.

The church has taken God off His glory pedestal and labeled him a lie and a fable with a good book of stories that make good sermons on Sunday but fall short when needed to be believed. We’ve lost the need of one another. We’ve grown selfish and afraid to feel the freedom we once held dear.

Now everyone is afraid and fears what the other might do or say and we’re buying the ticket that terrorist are at every door. We need to stop. Stop and feel the world tremble beneath our feet. It is crying out that we need to understand that it is crying for us to grab hold and feel its breath slowly ebbing away by our negligence and lack of forethought.

In ten years we will be rationing water. Rationing water, could you ever have thought anything so absurd? But that is the world we live in today and if we are to preserve something for our progeny and ancestors, we better act now.

Angie is just one person in the hospital. One woman, who the world is trying to forget, to push aside and let die because her upkeep is so difficult sometime. Her tracheotomy needs to be suctioned daily and her other daily need must be met. But we refuse to let this beautiful flower so full of life be snuffed out by uncaring social workers with more paper-work on their mind than compassion.

Angie Savoy is going to get better because we care and know that she is a fighter that doesn’t want to give up. A fighter who wants to get back up on her feet and be a part of society again.

And we’re not going to let them kill her! Please join in show your concern. Write to us on facebook, myspace or call the radio station, wish her well. She needs it and we’ll all appreciate it too!

Let them all know, Angie Savoie wants to live!
Thank you!

Relay for Life Another Huge Success in the Walk for Life!

Sunshine and smiling faces was the norm Friday and Saturday (Aug 6th & 7th 2010) at The American Cancer Society Eugene/Springfield's Relay for Life, in Oregon, this year held at Thurston High School Track, due to construction at Lane Community College field where the event is normally held.
This was Springfield City Beat 1080 Internet Radio's TEAM KSS tent site.

I think I had the inside spread out pretty nice, for a tent!
I even broadcast some of the program over night, and tried to capture it for you on video from the laptop but as you see, mostly it streaks, but it was still fun!

Like walking in the dark, seeing the "Angel's Runway" as it's called, which always reminds you of those flown away and those still in need of wings.

I wish you could have heards the Bag Pipes playing for the Luminaries (Surviors who have flown on) but missing that, the Lighthouse stands and lights the way as a reminder for other survivors to keep going, knowing that the light at the end of the tunnel, is the LIGHT OF HOPE FOR A CURE!

(I  wanted to let you hear the bagpipes,

So what happened to my people? All of TEAM KSS was missing in action! Shoot, the Doctor had to stand up and walk for the cause all by his lonesome, but I had fun, it was/is for a good cause and I thought about you... you guys worked hard and the car wash and I found out some of you were even out of town these two days.

Local groups kept the music going through the night!

I give you guys props for the help all of you did, TEAM KSS came through when times were tough and did a great job. I missed you at the walk, that's all, and remind you, there's next year!

Since we started,we're going to keep doing this, cause the more we shout it, the more will listen and one of them brilliant scientist or doctor will get motivated and find a cure and get it done!

Night time walking doesn't stop because it's dark, neither do unique teams.

A big shout out to Les Schwab
They always provide the best breakfasts!

I have to hand had it to them, these people are great. They come in, cook, lay it out and get it done and each year, everyone leaves smiles on their faces, ready to fill their bellies with a good hot breakfast! This I guess is their gift or part of it
Thanks Les Schwab.
Big ups from City Beat, to all of you!

But you know how it be... for us caffine fiends, last thing at night,

First thing in the morning!

I want to say thanks to all the team who participated  at the carwash and helped in raising

($200)two hundred dollars this year!
Hey, don't say is that all? Last year we just has the entry fee, so people, we're advancing,
slowly but surely. Remember, slow and steady wins the race, and we're in this to win!
and we're doing it for LIFE!

When I saw this tent morning across the way, it was touching to read what was written.

Read the signs from of survivor at the Relay for Life

Thanks to ALL and to those I met, it was my pleasure!
See ya next year!

DONT FORGET TO TUNE IN

In this hustle bustle race we do to get it all now and have it all today world of instant fame by outrageous antics, Burger Kings is topping the moment of absurd icons gone mad with desire to be the most talked about nut in the cracker jack box today!

We see some youth running rampant in the schools while parents argue over to spank or not to.
Earth fears the controvery still stirred by the albotross of color gender and sexual identity that unceasingly hangs across the common mind like smoker's haze in a dark lit room, and new breeds of children presume to know better how to run the world than those we've elected to be in charge.

Craziness abunds, there's even a site White People Gone Crazy for I guess, crazy  white folk!

Check it out, you won't believe some of shytt they do!

People do all kind of dumb thing for that fifteen minutes.
Coke has even done some out of this world spots. The Bird Man is my favorite!
Such tasks and thoughts should be left to greater men one would think, but I see the world as where I would improve it if given the chance. And those who would speak seem shy to the needs of a world crying and shouting to headless ears, take care, what is may not be tomorrow.

Think and wonder... live and learn.

...so that others can.

A cat is one survivor’s only comfort after Chile’s disastrous earthquake. (Courtesy msnbc.com)

Many are still looking searching and hope to find relatives and belongings amid the rubble left from the February 26th earthquake that hit Chile overnight leaving many homeless and the death toll reaching hundreds.

It’s March and the searches continue in known areas that have been hit by these “so-called ‘natural’ earth events, even as those in diverse locations around the planet experience thousands of earthquakes that happen every day around the world.

Most are hardly felt, if at all. But sometimes pieces of Earth's crust suddenly slip past each other in a massive release of pent-up stress.

Magnitude-8 earthquakes occur globally, on average, just once a year. Since magnitudes are given on a logarithmic scale, an 8.8-magnitude is much more intense than a magnitude 8, and so this event would be even rarer, said J. Ramón Arrowsmith, a geologist at Arizona State University.

Is it all the foretelling of something ominous?

The Last Days, an online magazine that professes that they are; Telling The World About The Signs Of The Last Days Before The Return Of The Lord Jesus Christ
http://signsofthelastdays.com/archives/tag/earthquakes

Reminds us of the scripture; "And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven."

Luke 21:11

The 7.0 magnitude earthquake that has essentially destroyed the nation of Haiti has refocused attention on the prophecies about earthquakes in the last days that we find in the Scriptures. Yahshua (Jesus) told us that we would see an increase in earthquakes as we approached His coming and that this would be a clear sign that the end times was at hand. Could the unusual shaking that we are currently seeing around the world be an indication that we are approaching the time prophesied almost 2000 years ago?”

Director or Taiwan Seismology Department at the Central Weather Bureau, Ku Kai-wen, points to Richter scale graphs after a strong earthquake hit southern Taiwan, Thursday, March 4, 2010, in Taipei, Taiwan. The powerful 6.4-magnitude earthquake rocked southern Taiwan on Thursday morning, causing widespread damage, and disrupting communications around the island.(AP Photo) (STR, AP / March 4, 2010)

Now with the Chili incident, and this newest one in Taiwan, we all wonder even more; are we safe from such things in most areas of the United States?

Well, no.

U.S. scientists are predicting that a Haiti-magnitude earthquake will strike along the New Madrid fault in the U.S. some time during the next 50 years.

A dozen Killer Quakes: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24032081/ns/technology_and_science-science

The deadliest earthquake in recorded history rattled the Shensi province of China on Jan. 23, 1556, and killed an estimated 830,000 people.

According to Jack Coles, an earthquake forecaster, the recent series of quakes, including the 6.5 shaker off the Coast are possibly fore-shocks of something bigger yet to come. http://beforeitsnews.com/story/3522/Earthquake_Warning_for_Northern_California_and_Oregon.html

Latest Earthquake News:
Pacific Northwest Quake Potential below:

Quake Expected in Oregon and Northwest:
Just 50 miles off the Pacific Northwest coast is an earthquake hotspot that threatens to unleash on Seattle, Portland and Vancouver the kind of damage that has shattered Chile. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iFz_6L3X5KzE8JrgPc2gn343if5AD9E6OFF83

Research presented last year at a seismology conference found that Seattle high-rises built before 1994, when stricter building codes took effect, were at high risk of collapse during a superquake.

Prior Polar Shifts Led to Ice Ages http://www.aolnews.com/science/article/in-other-earths-axis-news-prior-shifts-led-to-ice-ages/19380346

What the Chile earthquake did was slightly different, Gross says. When a giant quake occurs, it leads to a redistribution of the planet's mass, which in turn results in a kind of hitch in the figure axis. "The analogy I like to make is the tire on your car," Gross says. "The tire rotates about the axle, but if it's not balanced, it vibrates as it rotates. It wobbles."

As the shift incited by the Chilean quake grabs headlines, the planet is actually still in the midst of a recovery from a much more significant event.

According to geologist Thomas L. Holzer, two faults in the USA have the capacity to cause earthquakes of a similar magnitude to the Chilean quake. They are the Aleutian fault zone in Alaska and the Cascadia fault zone, which runs from northern California to Washington. http://www.theweek.com/article/index/106947/Quake_watch_is_America_next

AND WHEN, NOT IF A QUAKE HITS OREGON ARE YOU PREPARED?

If a major earthquake hit off the coast of Portland, Ore., experts say tall buildings would shake violently, and winds could carry broken glass as far as a half mile away.

They also say, similar to what happened in Chile, rubble would be everywhere and there would be casualties.

PREPARE!
http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/healthscience/2010/March/West-Coast-Reviews-its-Emergency-Preparedness/

I've gather the information for you that I think you will need in time of emergency!

After the Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989 12,000 Bay Area residents found themselves displaced permanently or temporarily. Of those whose homes remained intact, many were temporarily without water, electricity and phone service.

In order to prepare for another such disaster SF Gate has compiled a list of supplies the American Red Cross recommends you keep on hand.

****THESE ARE THINGS YOU SHOULD HAVE AND WILL NEED IN CASE OF EARTHQUAKE OR OTHER CATACLYSMIC EVENT.

ESSENTIALS!
WATER
FOOD

FIRST AID
TOOLS, SUPPLIES
SANITATION

CLOTHES, BEDDING
DOCUMENTS

TO BREAK DOWN THAT LIST:

WATER

• Store water in plastic containers such as soft drink bottles. Avoid using containers that will decompose or break, such as milk cartons or glass bottles. A normally active person needs to drink at least two quarts of water each day. Hot environments and intense physical activity can double that amount. Children, nursing mothers, and ill people will need more.

• Store one gallon of water per person per day. Don't forget your pets.

• Keep at least a three-day supply of water per person (two quarts for drinking, two quarts for each person in your household for food preparation/sanitation).

• Change this water every six months. Household liquid bleach to kill microorganisms:

o Use only regular household liquid bleach that contains 5.25 percent sodium hypochlorite. Do not use scented bleaches, colorsafe bleaches or bleaches with added cleaners.

o Add 16 drops of bleach per gallon of water, stir and let stand for 30 minutes. If the water does not have a slight bleach odor, repeat the dosage and let stand another 15 minutes.

The only agent used to treat water should be household liquid bleach. Other chemicals, such as iodine or water treatment products sold in camping or surplus stores that do not contain 5.25 percent sodium hypochlorite as the only active ingredient, are not recommended and should not be used.

OBAMA NEED APPOLOGIZE TO NO ONE!

OBAMA IN CHARGE
No apolgies necessary!

President Obama warned Democrats in Congress not to "jam" a health care reform bill through now that they've lost their commanding majority in the Senate, and said they must wait for newly elected Massachusetts Republican Scott Brown to be sworn into office.

The president said in an exclusive interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/2010/01/obama-seat-scott-brown-and-health-care-next-steps.html
"People are angry and they are frustrated. Not just because of what's happened in the last year or two years, but what's happened over the last eight years."

HELP AND ASSISTANCE STILL NEEDED!
Time moves on and so does our interest. We have given our support and assistance to a country in distress, and hopefully allowed a chance to grieve, we given them some of the tools necessary to rebuild their homes and lives.
Prayers, money and assistance is still needed to help the Haitians recover!

I told you how important it was that only trained individuals take it upon themselves to fly over and offer their help, and many did that who were not prepared to do so.

If you really think you are cabable of handling the sick injured, dead and dying then there is training available so that you can learn how to help.

THE RED CROSS IS OFFERING TRAINING to prepare for disasters of this type. Here's a KIT to help you get started.

For me, I want to talk to Nancy O'Dell to offer assistance in pushing her new RED CARPET  FURNITURE out to the public.

The PR of Hollywood works on a certain level, but I think she is trying to reach a speciallized market and change her image somewhat, to a more humanistic approach where she is accessible just like her page on facebook,

"She's a Star who allows you close to her radiance without getting burned."
310-532-5295

Her publisher Simon Spotlight Entertainment says she's also coming out with a book in April which is called  "In Full of Life: Mom to Mom Tips I Wish Someone Had Told Me When I Was Pregnant," O'Dell, who gave birth to daughter Ashby in June 2007, shares everything from her cravings to what goes on in the delivery room.  The book is scheduled for release in April. For info on her furniture:

I think I really could put personal touch in the advertisements and PR material I could create for her. Somebody! Who knows me and who knows Nancy! Connect us! Make it happen!

Skiilo, YOU we need to get you on TV! But that's another subject for later...

Come back to find out what I mean....

...and a whole lot more!

Medical Help and Aids with Emergency Training Still Needed in Haiti.

HAITIANS STILL NEEDS HELP
Money and Health Assistants with Emergency Aid Training Needed
A Haitian Child alone possibly orphaned

More aid is needed. More help is wanted. If you have money and want to help or if you have a skill in the medical field, emergency aid worker skills, doctors and other physicians with military experience or emergency incident training wanted.

Young Haitians struggle to recover, some search the streets for supplies,
the injured medical attention. Others just seek plain essentials.

These images and portion of content stolen from

and we at Springfield City Beat 1080 Internet Radio appreciates it and all the assistance they are provided in getting out the addresses for all the health and help organizations listed on their site.

And many others where you can donate of your time and money to help the
people of Haiti rebuild and repair their lives.

Thank you!

HOPE FLOATS IN HAITI

Among those alive and grateful are many American who lived in country, and we've forgot to mention their pain and suffereing during this tragic time.

They had families living in the destruction while it was going on and who along with the Haitians assisted in the clean-up and remained to give  of themselves while still in harms way.

After watch the brave hearted chivalry of Travolta Flies Own Plane To Haiti with Supplie and Doctors,

I kinda wish I hadn't told you not to go un-announced, but sure you knew I meant if you had no skills to offer or training to survice in a war torn or natural disaster environment.

Those with these skills were asked to respond and go to agencies that could utilize those practices in action. I am glad and thankful for those who with the appropriate skill level did give of themselves and were an actual help.

While some people did just arrive un-announced, and did end up needing assistance themselves. The number has been managable. We have received only a few reports of civilians having to be evactuated due to their inability to cope or having had no idea of what they were getting themselves into.

Worried about the future? Don't be it is out of your hands.
Those who will be saved have already marked their territory and prepared for it.
You, unless you have been searching and reading, finding out if the conspiracies are true or not, WILL BE LEFT OUT IN THE COLD literally.
What ever is going to happen, you need to find out now, ask questions and don't go quietly.
If fyou want to survive, ask questions how.

My first words, here...

The first words.... first baby steps...

It always feels that way when you create something new... no matter how many times you may have done the exact same thing before somewhere else. The first time in a new place with new people is always the best of everytime there after.

Think about it. Even if that first fu*k with the best lover you EVER had, was actually the best you ever had, no matter how many times you do it afterwards, it will Never Ever be the same as that very first time... when you really blasted off with that person.

Kinda like drugs I guess. You never quite ever get that same first time high (those of you who have did those type of things of course).

You keep running for that first great high and you never ever get it back, but damn you just keep trying and trying and trying...
